The Expanse takes place in the future. Humanity has colonized Mars and the asteroid belt. But humanity is far from united. Tensions between Earth and the militarized Mars are reaching a peak, while Belters are making it known that they are tired of working for terrestrial powers. In the midst of all this, a corporate cop must search for a missing heiress in a city on an asteroid; and a team of ice miners discover something that makes them targets for Earth, Mars, and the outer colonies. Everything is connected, and nothing is as it seems.
